Referee's assigned to Intramural matches are directed to ref the matches in a manner consistent with player devlopment and learning. any questions regarding referee procedures or applications of the Laws of the Game should be directed to the assignor Dwayne Arehart at darehart@akronsl.org.
If you are inquiring about a situation in a match, provide only the facts related as the situation occurred. Personal opinions, Team, referee or player names are not necessary unless requested.
Please treat our referees with respect at all times.....you are being watched by children who look up to you!
At this level as a refereee you are encouraged to help players learn the game. sometimes you may have to give a brief explanation of what a player is allowed to do. Or you may have to let some bad thorw ins just happen in order to keep the players playing. Talk to the players and encourage their participation in the match. Let them klnow they are doing well etc. the more activiely involved in helping the kids you are, the better relationship you will have with the coaches an parents.
If for any reason a coach harasses you, assume they they "just don't know any better". Do NOT engage a coach in a conflict. Report all incidents to me with the facts and I will deal with it for you.....it's my job!
